Hi, I'm Amy Woods Butler, the founder and owner of the memoir-writing service, The Story Scribe. I’ve been working full-time as a personal historian since 2012, when I discovered I could make a living from listening to other people's stories. I’ve had the honor of interviewing Midwest grandmothers, Southern gentlemen, Purple Heart veterans, founders of companies, teachers, 60-year-married couples, farmers, world travelers, singers, and one woman who joined the Civil Patrol at 16 to help scan the skies for Nazi invaders. Whether someone has lived a life of high adventure or barely made it off the homeplace, they have rich experiences to share. To my joy, I am allowed to help them do just that.

Before getting my start as a personal historian, I wrote interviews, essays and book and film reviews for a number of publications, including the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Kansas City Star and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
