I work with individuals and families, as well as organizations, including small to medium and family-owned businesses to record and preserve their stories in beautiful, custom-made, fully-illustrated books. Stories to Last books are highly narrative, retain authentic voice, and include historical context to make the stories accessible and valuable for generations to come. I offer full-service production, from recorded interview to published (privately or publicly) books (recorded interview, transcription, writing/crafting/editing, image scanning and optimization, design and layout, printing and publishing). Clients may choose to work with me for any part of the process they need. For example, I have consulted with clients to get started writing their own memoirs. I have provided content and copy editing, design, layout, image enhancement and publishing for clients who have written their own stories. I have acted as just the researcher and author as part of a creative team and just the book designer and publisher. I have also scripted and directed videos for clients and conducted video interviews. My products also include visual timelines (poster and print), company/board/executive bios, and other paraphernalia. Along with consulting and teaching workshops (prior experience includes 10 years of high school and college teaching), I have many years of experience as a public speaker, creating engaging presentations about saving stories or telling specific stories related to the organization or family (background includes stage acting and wedding officiate). I believe in the power of stories for both the reader and the narrator for connection, reflection, belonging, and discovering.
